Addible is a green chemistry innovation company based in County Kildare, Ireland, founded by some of the field's leading scientists. We turn cutting-edge sustainable chemistry into practical, commercially viable solutions, working alongside clients of all shapes and sizes.
Addible was founded in 2020 by Dr James Comerford, Professor James Clark and Dr Fergal Byrne, who together brought decades of experience from the University of York's internationally renowned Green Chemistry Centre of Excellence. The company began with a focus on removing problem additives from plastics so they could be recycled. Since then, our work has grown into green solvents, bio-based polymers, oxidation chemistry and recycling technologies. Our portfolio includes TMO₂, the first commercially available solution of hydrogen peroxide in an organic solvent, and OxyCycle, our award-winning tyre recycling process.

Today, all of our research and development takes place at our own laboratory in County Kildare, where we work hand in hand with clients to turn green chemistry into real-world products and processes.
Our laboratory at Allenwood Enterprise Park in County Kildare is where we take client projects from first experiments to scalable prototypes. Working in close partnership with clients, we carry out synthesis, solvent formulation and extraction, polymer development, recycling process trials and analytical testing.

Our lab work is designed with scale-up in mind from day one, generating the data and process understanding needed to take a promising result from the bench towards pilot and commercial scale.
We regularly welcome partners for demonstrations.

Addible is a partner in RESPECT, an EU Horizon Europe project developing flexible, safe and efficient ways to recycle lithium-ion batteries. The consortium brings together 18 partners from 9 European countries, developing hydrometallurgical and direct recycling routes that recover lithium, cobalt, nickel, manganese and graphite for use in new batteries.
This project has received funding from the European Union's Horizon Europe research and innovation programme under grant agreement No 101069865.
ReSolve. TMO was born out of Dr Fergal Byrne's PhD research within ReSolve, an EU Bio Based Industries project that sought safer, renewable replacements for hazardous fossil-derived solvents.
Circular Rubber Platform. Addible is a member of the Circular Rubber Platform, which brings together the rubber value chain to advance circularity.
